KlaviBoard vs Klaviyo Portfolio

Portfolio tells you how much. KlaviBoard tells you why. Here is the honest comparison, without passing Portfolio off as something it is not.

Two dashboards side by side: a plain revenue view on the left, a deeper dashboard with an alert on the right

What Portfolio does well, and for free

Worth saying up front: Klaviyo Portfolio is free, native, and it does its job. It brings the revenue of several accounts onto one screen, with no third-party tool. If all you want is to see at a glance how much each account brought in, take Portfolio. It is the right tool for that.

One misconception follows it around: that you have to own the accounts. That is not accurate. Being Owner or Admin of each account is enough, and one account can belong to several portfolios. Access is not the problem.

Where Portfolio stops: diagnosis

Portfolio shows what is running and how much it brings in. It does not say why a rate collapsed, or that a flow stopped running. An abandoned-cart flow paused by mistake triggers nothing: it simply drops out of the sends, and the revenue it used to generate falls to zero while the rest of the account looks normal.

That is where KlaviBoard picks up. Each account connects with a read-only API key, and twelve rules watch the whole set continuously: paused flow, bounce rate above 2%, spam complaints above 0.1%, flow entries collapsing, flow revenue dropping off. Alongside that, every campaign is compared with the previous one, deliverability reads by inbox provider, and the end-of-month review is already waiting as a report.

Do you have to choose?

Not necessarily. The two complement each other. Portfolio remains the fastest way to glance at consolidated revenue. KlaviBoard comes in when you want to catch a problem before the client does and go through each account in detail. The first tells you where things stand. The second tells you what moved, and why.

For a concrete case, the article on the paused flow shows exactly the kind of blind spot a consolidated view does not cover.

Frequently asked questions

Does Klaviyo Portfolio cost anything?

No. Portfolio is free and native to Klaviyo. It puts the revenue of several accounts on a single screen.

Do you have to own the accounts to use Portfolio?

No. Being Owner or Admin of each account is enough, and one account can belong to several portfolios. The friction for a freelancer is not access, it is depth: Portfolio shows revenue, not diagnosis.

Does Portfolio warn you when a flow gets paused?

No. Portfolio shows what is running and how much it brings in. A paused flow simply drops out of the sends, with no alert. KlaviBoard flags it when that flow still had people entering it in the previous period.

Aren't Klaviyo's custom reports enough?

For analysis, often yes. Klaviyo can build a custom report and even schedule it. But the output is a CSV or an internal screen, a scheduled report only goes to you and never to a recipient without a Klaviyo account, and everything has to be redone account by account. KlaviBoard starts from the same numbers and produces the document: formatted, editable, kept over time so months can be compared, shareable through a revocable link or as a standalone file.

Does KlaviBoard replace Portfolio?

Not really, the two work together. Portfolio remains the fastest way to see consolidated revenue, for free. KlaviBoard adds anomaly detection, deliverability, audience, forms and reports, across as many client accounts as you manage.

The KlaviBoard Free plan connects 3 accounts, no credit card.
