Bot click

Definition

A bot click is an automated click on an email or SMS link, performed by a security system checking the link, not by the recipient. Klaviyo flags it with the Bot Click property on the click event.

How it is computed, where to read it

Inbox provider and antivirus scanners open and click messages before delivering them. Those clicks inflate click rates and can wrongly trigger revenue attribution.

Klaviyo lets you exclude bot clicks from tracking and reporting (Bot Click = false filter in custom reports) or measure engagement with the active on site rate instead.

KlaviBoard applies a global Bot Click = 0 filter to every click rate when the option is on, and alerts above 25% bot clicks.

The threshold

Above 25% bot clicks, raw rates no longer mean anything: KlaviBoard alert rule.

These metrics, read continuously across all your accounts

KlaviBoard brings 3 to 20 Klaviyo accounts into one dashboard, compares every figure with the previous period and warns you when a threshold is crossed. The Free plan connects 3 accounts, no credit card.
